I'm in trouble with ODBC configuring. I don't know where to enter Service Name information in DataDirect configuration wizard

my MB version: 6.0.3
Data Source Name: ORACLE_ODBC
Server Name: 192.168.108.15
Client version: 10gR1 (though my Oracle DB is 10gR2 but this is maximum version I can choose in combobox)
appropriate username and password

finally I received the message:
[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-12514: TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in correct descriptor

please help me to config ODBC
many thanks

What is this "DataDirect configuration wizard"? I've never used it when configuring ODBC for Broker on any platform.

What platform are you running?

In order to configure database access for a Broker, you must follow every step that is outlined in the Info Center for how to configure database access for Broker.

What does your Oracle database administrator recommend you do?

Do you have the appropriate TNSnames.ora file in the appropriate directory?
Do you have the oracle client installed on your broker box?
Do you have port 1521 (outgoing) open on your firewall?
Do you have the host in the tnsnames.ora open on your firewall?

Enjoy

@Jefflowrey, @Fjb_saper:
I use Windows XP Pro. DataDirect for MQSeries ODBC driver is included in message broker product and I could not find any TNSnames.ora. Should I need to install the oracle client package?
I have followed the guideline: create DS, use regedit to insert new key named WorkArounds into registry but finally I sill received error message .

We are behind a firewall but I have enough privilege to access Oracle DB (I use SQL Developer to connect to Oracle DB and there's no problem).

hereunder pictures describe the process that I created and received error message. Please help me to correct it.

many thanks

I'd say you really need to talk to your oracle DBA. At the least the connect string is incomplete as it does not specify the Oracle SID...

hi all

finally, the reason why I cannot connect to Oracle DB is I have too much Oracle client version: Oracle XE, Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g.

thanks for all your support
