Hey All,
I am about to install me01 support pack to websphere 5.3 on windows (and mq 6.0 on windows in the near future) ..
within my 5.3 install, I cannot locate the file 'mqcontext.jar' ; as in the me01 installation instructions it says to replace this file .. ?
I performed a search on my entire drive and no file..
any suggestions as to why I do not have it / or how I can perform the install of me01 ?
thanks
Kind Regards,
JD |

I hope that you are aware that the initial context provided by ME01 is only suitable for a development environment.
If you are going for a JNDI context use the file context.

I'd go with 'unsuitable'.
But I'm biased against this thing, perhaps unreasonably. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks Jeff. I thought I'd allow it for development purposes as I'm sure there was an honorable intent in creating the fixpack, if only to allow the use of the WebSphere InitialContextFactory class...
However as my many rants will show you need a far more stable JNDI environment for a QA/Production JNDI setup.
The File context delivered with MQ is the easiest to set up and use and therefore will allow you to play nicely before graduating to much more complex setups (like WAS, LDAP etc...). Enjoy _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I'm merely opposed to it because it treats a queue manager as a source of information, rather than a repository of queues. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
