I have enabled the statistics feature to generate queue statistics messages for the SYSTEM.ADMIN.STATISTICS.QUEUE.
The intervall is set to 900 seconds.
I see that messages are written to that queue -
my questions:

1. Are all messages written to the queue SYSTEM.ADMIN.STATISTICS.QUEUE will be available for ever ? Or is there a timeframe after older messages are deleted from the queue ? (f.e. something like a round robin)
If this will be not the case, the queue will run into an overflow in the case you do not delete the messages by your own.

2. If there is no activity on the queue I am monitoring is a statistics messeage written or not ?

3. The messages are not persistence - is this right ?

Do the messages have an expiry set when you examine them?

That would appear to be logical if no method is clearing them out is present.

What happens when you montior a queue that's not in use? Do you get messages?

What is the persistence setting on the messages when you examine them?

Ok,

to sum it up:

1. The messages are not persistence, so after a restart they are gone.
2. There seems to be no round-robin feature, so when you set up the time intervall very short you will run eventually into an overflow
3. When for a special queue no activity is up inside the time frame, no statistics for that queue will be written.

Thats my experiences, if someone have different opinions please comment !
