Hi,
I'm looking to compile a list of 3rd party support partners for WMB to undertake 2nd line suport (to produce an RFI document).
If anyone can provide names I'd appreciate it.
Regards,

Support in terms of administration, or support in terms of development? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi,
Development will be internal, so we're talking about 2nd line support for incidents relating to error conditions, problems with the broker, user raised calls - ultimately 3rd line will be internal again.

I imagine that any IBM business partner that offers contracting services and has WMB skill sets would be happy to write a proposal for you.
If only to have the chance to upsell you on the rest of their business services. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Well, I don't know that there are a lot of people who frequent here, who are both in London AND have hired or considered hiring a company to do this.
Otherwise you're asking people to talk publicly about companies that they either DO work for or HAVE worked for.
In the U.S., my experience has been that it's the quality of the specific people being brought in and not as much the quality of the company in question.
And you won't likely see resumes until you've gotten actual proposals.
If you're just looking for a list of potential suppliers... then IBM's website will let you search for official business partners in your region, by technology and a few other things - if I recall correctly.
And there's always the phonebook. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Crikey,
I thought I asked a simple question!, just trying to get a headstart in producing an RFI - lots of support companies are location independent in my experience.
The qualitative assessment comes at the RFP stage, OK I understand if people cannot commit on a forum, although this is the sort of general question you would ask at any user forum, but my offline email is grabitanrun@yahoo.co.uk if that helps.
Otherwise thanks for the time and feedback

Sure, it's a simple question.
But there's a bunch of reasons why people might not answer...
And I don't know of any specific companies, that are capable of international work at least, that I could recommend... that you don't already know about. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

London now includes the whole of the South. They'll be putting housing estates over the New Forest and a tube line out to Beaulieu any time now...... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
