I'm hoping someone can help. We are running the Client trigger monitor and thought things were working fine. We are kicking off a batch job on the machine (windows 2003 server) where the client trigg is running. Something like c:\trigtest.bat. At first I just put in an echo statement to create a file. ( ie echo %date% > output.txt ) That works fine when the queue triggers, but as soon as I put in some type of other command like 'copy file1.txt c:\file2.txt' it doesn't work or try to run Java -jar File.jar. It doesn't find any external command it would seem.
The event log shows the following. Bottom line is it finds the bat file, but any command like Java -jar ... doesn't work or a copy command. Security should be ok because I'm running the trigger monitor with an administrator id that has access to everything. Something with PATHing? I'm really confused. I've seen one post like this in mqseries.net but it wasn't exactly the same. Something about the service running out of /windows/system32. Am I missing something simple or how else can I trace what is going on?
The queue manager is running on a Windows 2003 server and running version 6. The client trigger monitor is running on a different windows 2003 server and the .BAT file is also running on the 2003 server.
Thanks alot.
Gary

I can almost guarantee that the client trigger monitor process does not have the same environment (PATH, CLASSPATH, MQSERVER, and etc. etc. etc.) that a normal user will have.
A) Use fully qualified paths for *everything* in the batch file you invoke from the trigger monitor
OR
B) make sure to specifically and completely set every environment variable that you want or need IN the batch file
OR
C) do both
Just pretend it's a cron job, and treat it the same. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

and make sure you set the default directory by giving its full path: like
cd d:\mydefault_dir
d:
hereismyfirstcommand
as you never know which directory the background user running your trigger monitor is really starting in....
Like Jeff said, treat it like a crontab job...

Thank you both very much. I set things up to basically replicate the path, classpath, etc and everything worked.
Thanks again,
