Hi all,
We've always run our 'serious' servers on Solaris 9/Sparc kit. The Powers That Be are looking to cut costs as usual, and thinking about RedHat/x86. I'm trying to convince them that Solaris 10/x86 is the way to go, but they're wondering whether anyone else out there is actually using WMQ on this combo? It looks like it's officially supported by IBM - but that doesn't mean widely used in anger.
Any stories/a simple yes or no would be much appreciated.
Regards,

You may want to do a search on the forum. I am aware of a region parm change if you want to run more than 4 qmgrs in the region...

Hi,
I have WMQ v6 installed on Solaris 10 for x86_64 and it works really well. I find no noticeable differences in Solaris between x86_64 and SPARC.
Personally, I would stick with x86_64 rather than using x86 (aka x86_32). Plus IBM clearly states that WMQ v6 for Solaris x86_64 is for x86_64 architecture.
