We use Websphere MQ to handle application related messages,our aim is to direct the expired messages in our request queue to a dead letter queue and then process the dead letter queue to handle the expired messages.
I setup the dead letter queue by using the command
ALT QMGR DEADQ(TESTDLQ)
The dead letter queue is set for the queue manager but the messages never seem to reach the dead letter queue.
Does anybody has a solution to this problem??
Whether expired messages are actually directed to the dead letter queue by the QManager??

Messages that have expired are discarded by the next appropriate MQGET call. and are not sent to DLQ
