Hi All,
I am trying to find a utility for audting the MQ queues, basically it shows the queues names, no. of put , no. of get, user id putting the messagning es, and also the details can be got in formatted manner between a date range.
we have some time , moving to MQ6.0 but our present set up is MQ5.3 CSD 11.
One of my colleagues pointed out that there's a APi exit called MQaudit , i tried searching the net but to no avail.
Please if some body knows about it, kindly share and help
regds

As to showing the queue names and usage details, most admin programs can achieve this or something like it. WMQv6 has enhanced facilties to achieve this out of the box.
As to user id, why are you auditing this & not auditing exceptions? Do you really need to know who is putting individual messages on a daily basis? On any realistic production system that level of information is going to get unwieldy very quickly. It'll also be rendered useless by a .NET program with it's own id or a channel with an MCAUser set.
I've not heard of the exit you name. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, its vital for our application info for the no. of the messages put by a particular id as they are going for some internal charging mechanism.
please can you suggest, some other api ext / suport pack which can help me acheive this in MQ5.3
regards

Modify the standard API exit, amqsaxe0.c, to do what you want. _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |

I add the standard warning about the dangers of a badly written exit. This is not a judgement on the skills of anybody here, but bugs do creep in and an exit is a bad place to have one.
If it was me (and it's not) I'd put this kind of mechanism in the end application. Possibly as a passthrough before the "real" application. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
