Hi,

Does anybody know when trace files in /var/mqsi/common/log directory are removed?

I'm using WMBv6.0.0.4 on AIX and found that many trace files (0 byte!), for exapmle, <brokerName>.mqsistart.trace.bin.0, had been created in the directory.
It seems not to be removed and cleared because I found 'ancient' trace files still existed.
Mysterious....

Support pack 4 has been removed!! Upgrade to support pack 5 or downgrade to support pack 3.

Enjoy

Thank you for your post, fjb_saper.

Actually, another box with WMBv6.0.0.3 on Windows has the same situation, although the directory path is different from AIX.

I think that my problem is very similar to this one, "http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&context=SSKM8N&context=SSKMAB&q1=trace.bin.0&uid=swg1PQ90187&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en", but of course this is, I think, an old defect.
How can I cope with this situation?

The files are all 0 length. Why is this a problem.

Cheers,

Well, I'm not an expert in AIX but I thought there was the maximum number of files allowed by AIX.
I'm worring about the maximum number of files we can have on Unix platform, in this case AIX.

If these files are not removed automatically, even with 0 length, we are responsible for cleaning the file system and have to avoid exceeding the limit number.
I believe this is especially important for administrators who are responsible for maintaining the system.

Isn't it a defect?
