Hi,
I'm trying to design a request-response message flow for a system. The input message have a repeating element and the request flow should send individual message to the back-end system for each repeating element. When the response is sent back to the caller, all the responses should be aggregated. Now, we are thinking of using aggregation nodes for this. But, the number of repeating elements can go around 100. So, if we generate 100 msgs for aggregation, will there be any performance problem. Is it advisable? Are there any alternatives? Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Possibly, yes. It will depend on the size of the reply messages, and how they are modeled. The AggregateReply node will fully parse each message, as it's received, so none of the benefits of "parse on demand" come into play.
On a Windows XP test system, I ran out of memory at around 100 messages, purely on the AggregateReply, before any of the remainder of the flow was executed.
