Hi All,
I would like to know what the industry out there is doing with regards to running WAS and its related applications as a non root user.
I am of the understanding that is standard practice not to run any application or product with the UNIX user Root, am I correct in my understanding?
If so, should I change the owner and group of these executables and which should I leave as ROOT:SYSTEM? |

Back when I was a WAS admin for a government agency, we never ran anything as root, and never left any WAS files owned by root.
The same with IHS files and execution user. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Did you change the OWNER and the GROUP or just one of them? _________________ Emile M Kearns |
