I have a queue manager with following properties.
Quee manager name :DIA.ADMIN.QMGR
Queue Manager status: Stopped
StartUp : Automatic

I am expecting this queue manager to be started automaticaly at the bootup of my system as per the Info.Centre
Quote:
"WebSphere MQ for Windows allows you to automate the startup of a queue manager and its channel initiator, channels, listeners, and command servers."

But the queue manager is not starting up automatically.
Please suggest.

Does the Event Log / Queue Manager Log give any indication that the queue manager is indeed starting automatically, then crashing?

Yes, "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\amqsvc.exe" has startup type automatic.

Not even an info message saying the service and the queue manager are starting?

If the service is set to automatic, and isn't throwing any messages you have a Windoze problem. What version of Windoze is it, and patched to what level?

I think so too.

My user id is having limited admin rights on Win XP Version 2002 with Service Pack 2.

If the service is trying to run as your user id, especially if that's a domain id then there's your problem.

Run it as a local id, preferably the LocalSystem or a local id in the mqm group. Use the search button to find many discussions on why using domain users is a one-way ticket to the City of Pain.

You may want to verify what userid the queue manager is running under also. Depending on your permissions, it could appear to be "working properly" if you're the only one testing it, but will have problems when put into general use.
