There used to be a program from the UK that was an MQ exit. It checked the incoming IP addresses on MQClient channels and possibly also on Sdr/recv channels. I cannot find the URL anywhere. Does anyone remember this group or program. I think they provided the source and also the compiled version of the exit for several platforms.

Are you thinking of BlockIP? I think it's origin is Denmark.

If so, it is now a Cat 2 (as-is, unsupported) supportpac - MS0R.

Cheers
Steve

Absolutely correct.

BlockIP2 can be found here www.mrmq.dk

MS0R can be found here http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24015658.

I encourage simonson to search this board for other posts on this topic.

Hello there. I've been mining this board for info for a year, but I've at last come to a problem that I can't find the solution for. I'm trying to install MQ v6.0.2.2 on a Solaris 8 machine. I've downloaded BlockIP2 versions 2.66 and 2.69. Both versions cause an rc=2009 on the connect. The BlockIP2 logs show no indication of a problem, and MQ is generating FDC files of 0 bytes. The really kinky thing is, when I start the MQ trace, the problem disappears. Turn the trace off, and it's back. I've tried recompiling it (using gcc) and I get a slightly different length, but the same results.

On a separate but related issue, I did have a problem where BlockIP2 refused to recognize the 'NONE' parameter on the SCYDATA parm. It treated it as a dns name and failed because it couldn't find it.

I commented out that part of the code and then got to the point where it allowed the connection and exited with a clean code, but the channel then terminates with the 2009 reason. I compared the debug output from the failing connection with output when it worked (MQ trace on) and don't see any difference.

Haven't talked to IBM yet, but get the feeling they'll just tell me the problem's in the exit.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
