I am trying to do remote administration to a UNIX qmgr that is behind a firewall from another UNIX qmgr. I have created channels to and from both queue managers and have update the VIA box on the remote definition to use the local queue manager. The channels connect correctly and I see messages going from the local queue manager to the remote queue manager but I am not getting a connection on the MO71 panels - it just hangs. Obviously I am missing something here but I am been through PDF several times to make sure I am configured correctly and it still does not work.

Any guidance you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Read the intercommunications manual.
You need a DEFAULT path from the target qmgr to the qmgr you are connected to.

Use a qmgr alias if the channel already exists....
