Could someone please direct me to where I can find information on how to move a queue manager (and associated queues)from a windows box to a Solaris box? The queue manager I would like to move services a test/QA environment so the messages in the queues are not critical.
Thanks

Use saveqmgr, and maybe amqoamd -s, to save your definitions.

Then create the new qmgr, and restore the definitions.

Then delete the old qmgr.

You may need to take a look in the windows registry as well ans the suggestions given so far.

Why you may ask?

If your windows QMGR was created with any non standard values on the crtmqm command line then this is where thay are stored. For example, the number of primary log files, their size and location.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->IBM->MQSeries->CurrentVersion->Configuration->QueueManager

At this point, you will see the name of your queue manages. If you drill down into them, you can find out all sorts of lovely stuff about the Queue Manager.

Luckily, this is all held in nice human readable text file(S) on Unix/Linux

/S

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
