There's more to focus on than price when picking a platform and the software to run on it, namely: expected reliability, scalability, serviceability. These should be considered when designing and implementing any application.
The iSeries brings more of these than less expensive boxes; zSeries (mainframe) much, much more. |

In my research the cost per processor is the same on Intel as it is on the iSeries. (we use both platforms) As always you should check with your sales rep. _________________ Any opinion expressed is mine, no matter where I got it from, and I retain
