Has anyone encountered a problem with Exchange Server 2003 handling e-mails with attachments that were generated using the IA07 support pac?
We (don't laugh) just upgraded from Exchange 5.5 to 2003 and attachments that previously worked are no longer working. Our Exchange people have tried everything they can think of to no prevail.
We are running WMB on HP-UX.
The e-mail body looks like:
Code: |
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

... I guess it would help to know what the error messages are.
And also I guess it wouldn't help to suggest that you actually use a real mail server instead of Exchange. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

We haven't identified any error messages anywhere, just the body of the e-mail that I displayed earlier.

AMEN! Believe me, if it was my choice we would...
Thanks for your reply. |

I'm confused.
There are no error messages anywhere, just some random email body.
But attachments that previously worked don't work...
"don't work" how? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Sorry for any confusion. Let me clarify that IMHO this is not a problem with the SendMailPlugin, but I'm searching for anyone who has a similar environment that may have had problems in the past.
What works? MIME messages generated using the SendMailPlugin on an HP-UX broker and received by Exchange 2000 (or 5.5) server. The e-mail has a body and an attachment.
What doesn't work? The exact same MIME messages, generated in the same HP-UX broker environment and received by Exchange 2003 server.
The e-mail body appears as garbled text as in the example above.

Right. Neither of those appear to be "garbled" text.
They appear to be proper base64 encoded text... which I haven't bothered to try to decode to find out if it's correct or not.
I'd suggest you compare the message leaving the HP mailserver with the message coming out of Exchange.
That should give you an idea of what Exchange is deciding needs to be converted. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
