Chaps,
I get the following unexpected behaviour when I try to build & deploy a bar file. I am using...
WBI 6 Toolkit Windows 6.0.2
WBI 6 Runtime FixPack 1
WMQ 5.3 CSD 9
Win XP SP 2 plus latest patches
VMWare Player to host the development image (XP host & XP Image)
I have a message flow that has an MQInput, Compute & MQOutput nodes. The compute node copies the entire message then changes one of the XML elements: very simple to demonstrate the problem. The problem comes when I want to change the flow & redeploy as the flow is rarely included when I add it to the bar file. There are no errors written to the domain event log, no errors linked to the message flow and no dependencies.
If I go through the following steps I can get the deploy to work but this is very long winded and I did not have to do this on V5 so would like to undertstand what has changed.
Make changes & save message flow.
Clean build the project.
Open bar file, remove old version of message flow, save bar file.
Add new version of message flow to bar file, save bar file.
Remove the message flow from the execution group.
mqsilist BRK -e EG to confirm flow has been removed.
Deploy new bar file to EG
mqsilist BRK -e EG to confirm flow has been added.
I guess I do not understand why the clean build is required in this version when it was not essential in V5 especially given there are no dependencies.
The other query is why the refresh of the message flow in the bar editor does not seem to work.
Any comments welcomed. _________________ ---

Do you have "Build automatically" enabled, or disabled? If it's disabled, you will have to build the project before it can go to the BAR... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I do not have Build Automatically set on the project menu.
Is this something that was introduced on V6? If not why didn't I have the problem on V5?
What is being built here? I thought the message flows were interpreted on the broker runtime & building implies a compilation step. _________________ ---

Only message flows that are compiled are added to the bar file, with extensions .cmf.
By default, "build automatically" is usually enabled which causes compiling on saving the resource. |

And please upgrade to the latest version of the toolkit (6.0.2) and broker (6.0.0.4) as a number of bugs have been fixed including behavioral bugs in the toolkit...
