Any of the professional monitoring tools will do that for you.

Please suggest something more specific if this is not the answer you were looking for.

Of course, MQ Explorer is "free", and will work with the MQ client.

Yah, MQ Explorer is great at dance parties too.

You take your laptop to a dance party, fire it up, start MQ Explorer, set the refresh rate at 1 second and it will flicker so brightly that you will have your own personal strobe light.

You'll be the cool geek at the party.

I'm not going to ask how you found that out.....

Hi,

I spoil myself when it comes to computer hardware. My development PC is a dual head monster. I have a dual-head DVI Radeon X1650 video card with two 21 inch LCD monitors (1600x1200 each) attached to it. So my desktop is 3200x1200. Hence, I have lots of room for apps to be running.

My eyes are very sensitive to refresh rates or anything that flickers - it'll give me a headache. I've tried to use MQ Explorer v6 many times but I have to turn off all of the auto features.

Whoever designed the auto refresh components in MQ Explorer v6 took the lazy way out. For each iteration, they destroy all table components then recreate them. Hence, the flicker. Secondly, it uses up a lot more memory in the JVM. You should see it when it is connected to a remote queue manager over a slow network. It looks like it is having a nervous breakdown.

A year ago or so, I wrote my own Java program that properly displayed the queue attributes with an auto refresh feature. Absolutely no flickering in it.

Besides the flickering, MQ Explorer v6 has severe problems and limitations with client-side security exits. So, I'm not a fan of MQ Explorer v6 (now MQ Explorer v5.3 was a very good product).

Phew - I thought you'd gone to a party and tried it!

Nice kit. I've got PC envy.

... I guess I haven't seen that ad.

Every time I try and find out of FIOS is available in my area, the website says "We're down for maintenance right now. Please try later".

Hi,

In MQ Conf in Atlanta (2006), I showed Jeff and a few others a picture of my data center.

I'm up to 14 servers now, plus I borrow several from IBM (i.e. Linux on POWER and Linux on zSeries). This allows me to easily test against Unix, Linux and Windows any time I want.

The only server that I don't have is HP-UX on Itanium. (I don't feel like spending $8000 on a new one.) So, if anyone knows of a good hardware reseller (in North America) that sells HP-UX on Itanium please let me know.

Are you claiming Roger spends a lot of time in the closet?

Again, not asking how you know this!!
