We are currently looking for 2 permanent websphere application server consultants. Our head office is based in Swindon (UK) but willingness to travel to client sites around the UK is essential. You will not have to reside in Swindon however. We will sponsor a Visa if required for the right person, but would prefer someone UK based for timeliness reasons.
In addition to the information below, you will need to be a clear communicator with a confident personality.
Role requirements:
• Using customer requirements and business objectives; provide relevant design advice and design documentation.
• Build a scalable, highly available infrastructure on WebSphere Application Server (WAS) in order to deploy standard J2EE Enterprises Applications.
• Take ownership for all installations, configurations and upgrades on given project where applicable.
• Involvement where necessary in Java development, testing and support on projects.
• Provide product and environment expertise to customers as sole representative for short term engagements.
Technical Skills Required:
• Recent and strong WAS 5.1/6.0 ND skills. (WAS exp. should be 3+ years)
• Java (pref. J2EE, inc. Web Services) (again 3+ years)
• Be able to design, develop, install, configure, administrate and support.
• Distributed platforms (Linux/Unix an advantage)
• Strong problem determination and problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to assess priorities and to adapt as necessary.
• Logical and physical design skills.
• Ability to disseminate complex information in terminology appropriate for the target audience.
• Understanding of concepts of Message Oriented Middleware advantageous.
