Our requirement is to run WMQ Queue manager outside the intranet to communicate to a QM inside the intranet.
If the external queue manager which will be used to connect to a queue manager inside the intranet is installed in a server with VPN connection to the intranet - then in this case do we need MQIPT ? Or since we are using VPN, we wouldn't require MQIPT?

Are you trying to say you would use VPN to connect the two queue managers? I'm not certain that can even be done. The fact that one queue manager is within your intranet and one is not is not really relevant. But, you do need basic IP connectivity between both hosts. _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist

If you already have a VPN then you don't need MQIPT as you will be able to connect directly between the 2 queue managers.

technically you don't need MQIPT, some companies have more restrict security and connection rules and MQIPT can also be used as a connection interruptor...
as usual the answer is: "it all depends" _________________ Michael
