Position Purpose
This person will be responsible for developing standards and architecture for MQ API (JMS) use in the enterprise as well as building and maintaining Websphere MQ tools, services and facilities. Point of contact for user community on all MQ tools and services. Additional responsibilities will include: MQ configuration, MQ upgrades, level 3 support for MQ, learning/maintaining MetaStorm's PM4Data product, and overseeing upgrade and release projects.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
· View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
· Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.
· Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.
· Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.
· Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
· Websphere MQ administration (3+ years experience in MQ configuration).
· Programming experience using MQ API and JMS.
· Familiarity with open source standards is plus.
· Shell scripting and basic Unix OS knowledge.
· Experience in one or more of the following: C (or C++), Java (JMS), COBOL, MVS, Visual Basic, PM4Data, Window's MQ administration.
