Hello All,

I have been trying to migrate the SSL certificates from v5.3 MQ to v6 MQ...but I am not able to get the private key migrated.

The steps which I follow are :

1. Check the certificate store using the amqccert.
2. Migrate v5.3 to v6
3. Apply Fix pack v6.0.2.1
4. Start the SSL migration manually using the commands below:

a. amqtcert -m QMNAME -w "Path" -g "Path" -p PASSWORD
--> It list the number of certificates migrated.
b. runmqckm -cert -list all -db key.kdb -pw PASSWORD
--> It list down all the certificates including the public keys, but it doesn't show the private key.


I have tried it couple of times earlier when the above was working but then the fix pack level applied was 6.0.2.0. The key used to come as a series of numbers which I used to change to ibmwebsphermqQMNAME using the ikeyman.

But now the same set of commands doesn't migrate the private key.

Please advise.

I thought I will update you people. After a lot of testing we found that the migration of certificates doesn't happen if we have applied the latest fix pack of 2.1.

After we back out the 2.1, the certificates can be migrated easily. After which the fix pack may be applied.

You may have something wrong in your 6.0.2.1 fixpack. Did you not apply gskit?
You should be able to migrate certificates or at least reimport them...

Open a PMR and get to the bottom of this... Nice that you found a workaround...
