Hi,

Is it possible to install MQ V6.0 for Aix 5.2 on a different filesystem? by default, it goes to /var/mqm. Can I install it on /test for instance?

Thanks Micheal. In the manual, they specify creating a symbolic link for usr/mqm, where the binaries are held. What about the /var/mqm? Can i create a symbolic link for that as well?

According to the manual, it is stated that I can't change the /var/mqm dir. Any workaround for this?

You can not change the paths that MQ will use internally.

This means there has to exist a path "/var/mqm".

Which filesystem that path points to is irrelevant.

Don't forget that the installation also puts symlinks in /usr/lib and /usr/bin and installs the message catalogs in /usr/lib/nls/msg and that installp itself keeps its package data in /usr/lpp/mqm*, /usr/lib/objrepos and /etc/objrepos, so if you are trying to do an installation without touching /usr or without disturbing an existing installation it will be very difficult.
