Hello,

I'm certain there are users out there that are currently using WBIMB with Oracle instead of DB2. I have been given the task to do research and analysis with regard to migrating from DB2 to Orace. Currently, my client has WBIMB v5.0 using DB2 in a Windows environment. In the near future, they will be migration to v6.0 on Linux. After that stage is complete, the plan is to migrate to Oracle. The Oracle instance will be on a separate server running HP-Unix.

I very new to this process so any documentation, hints, or gotchya's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

It's probably a lot of pain to migrate to version 6, and then migrate the broker database later. You will have to delete & recreate the broker anyway, likely (unless you think you can actually successfully migrate it from DB2 to Oracle yourself...).

So you really might as well just build the v6 using Oracle for the Broker database from the start.

And you really, really, really need to go through the entire section in the Info Center on configuring databases. Several times. Before you start trying to do this on Linux. With Oracle.

Really!
