I am trying to install WebSphere MQ V6 on a Windows 2000 machine. The installation goes along well until the end when it is trying to insert/create the file
and place it in
Code: |
C:\DOcume~1\user1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ |
I have tried this install multiple times and it has failed to create
amqt0001.txt, amqt0002.txt, amqt0003.txt, amqt0004.txt, and amqt0005.txt
The directory exists and I have administrator rights on the machine. Has anyone else run into this issue? |

It's been a while since Ive done the install but I remember having the same difficulty. As far as I remember, I sort "sledge-hammered" the install and created the files that the install is whinging about manually. Im sure that this is not ideal but it worked ok. |

Where did you create the files? I am having the same problem. I have exhausted all possibilities. |

Thank you Gayathri.
But for some reason what you suggested is not working for me I have been struggling to get MQ V6 installed but I get stopped every time when it tries to create amqt0001.txt. I have even installed V5.3 and tried upgrading and I run into the same problem.
Anyone? |

Looks like this thread has gotten a bit quiet. I am also hitting this problem and would love a solution. I have tried all the tips/tricks above with no luck. Did anyone find a workaround that works? |

I have tried so many times but had no luck...how could I skip it? looks like it only create several txt files.
Ok, back to the topic. I just successfully installed WMQ 6.0 on Windows 2000. The only thing I did is to deinstall the old MQ 5.3 including moving away its installation folder. After that I installed WMQ6.0 and restored all the objs. It works... |

The two main issues seem to be
1. Path to Temp or TMP directory and r/w permissions
2. Spaces in path names
I suggest that you install to C:\IBM\WebMQ6 or equivalent and make sure that none of the installed paths contain spaces _________________ Brian S. Crabtree
