We currently have a large scal installation running MQSeries Version 5.2 with CSD 4.2 installed. We have the broker MAC0 support pack installed for the broker. We have been experiencing problems with JMS subscribers that become zombies for whatever reason (bad application design, application crash, client recycle, server reboot, etc). The subscriber connection become zombies, and the broker thinks they are still registared. Therefore, the broker tries to deliver the message. What happens, is that the SYSTEM.JMS.ND.SUBSCRIBER.QUEUE becomes full after a while and startes to cause problems. My questions is: Is there a configuration setting that would remove these subscribers when the tcpip connection has dropped or better yet, is there a way to disable messages from going to the SYSTEM.JMS.ND.SUBSCRIBER.QUEUE when this occurs? We are running into a critical situation and need a resolution on how to prevent these zombies subscribers from cluttering up the queue. Any ideas????????

See page 217 onwards of the latest Using Java manual. Lots have now been written about this subject and it appears that there is now a lot of function in the products to support subscriber cleanup.
