Hi

We have Gateway and Broker Queue Managers in cluster and Gateway doesn't have any objects and those Gateways are with the same name on different server and highly available for the application with same dns name.Applications connect to Gateway queue manager and put the messages to the Cluster alias queues pointing to the Broker QueueManager

We are planning to use client channel table and remove the Gateway queue managers and dns name too.

Some one suggested me not to remove Gateways as Applications are connecting to it and if there is any application issues some times it may possible to crash the Gateway QueueManager and If it is Broker Queue Manager it will so bad we need to take care of the Broker too as Broker Queue Manager is down. And if it is Gateway it is very easy to manage as it doesn't have anyobjects on it

Please advice that I can keep the Gateway QueueManager or can I remove them and allow applications to connect to the Broker QueueManager.

Thank you

Hi

Its not good idea to expose the Broker queue manager to the external world. (security reasons)

Depends how you are handling the security part.

Thanks and Regards

Gateways usually have reply queues.

In the case of client applications, remember that the server side performs most of the processing load, so it's better to have a separate qmgr than to impose that load on the broker machine.
