Okay I basically mashed together a bunch of things people mentioned and created the new forum:
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=23
If anyone feels strongly about changing the name or description just send me a PM. _________________ Brandon Duncan

Hi Brandon,
How about you re-categorize some of those forums (General Discussion and Sponsored Categories are fine).
For WebSphere MQ Support Category put the following:
- General Websphere MQ Support
- Websphere MQ Installation/Configuration Support
- Clustering
- Mainframe and CICS
- WebSphere MQ Everyplace
- Websphere MQ Monitoring and Tools
For MQSeries Development Category (the name should be WebSphere MQ Development) put the following:
- Websphere MQ API Support
- Websphere MQ Java / JMS
- The Websphere MQ FAQ
Create a new category called: Products that use WebSphere MQ and put the following:
- Websphere Business Integration Support (WBI/WMQI/WMB/MQSI)
- WebSphere MQ Workflow
- WebSphere Process Server (WID/WPS/WAS+)
- WebSphere Interchange Server + Adapters
The only questionable forum is 'WebSphere MQ Everyplace' - maybe it should be under the new category 'Products that use WebSphere MQ'.
Regards,
Roger Lacroix

there is no 'easy' way to do this via the phpBB fromum admin menu's...
it requires a little db poking (not hard but still ...) from Brandon. _________________ Michael

Products that use WebSphere MQ is kind of misleading ... as most of these integration products can function with out using webSphere MQ at all. |

Ok, then go with Products that can use WebSphere MQ
A lot of people including myself don't use those other products and are tired of the line being blurred between MQ and software that uses MQ.

it's a word game, use or can use...
it certainly does not apply to WMB and MQWorkflow, these products don't even install without MQ... so that's products that need MQ _________________ Michael

Why is the maintenance on the product running out and no replacement product planned anymore? I believe the forum contains a wealth of information for those starting with MQEveryplace and the little number of posts just means that the users found what they were looking for in a search...

there must be projects or implementations using MQ Everyplace, does anyone have experience with those and care to share? _________________ Michael

I'm not aware of anything official on the maintenance of the product, but I thought it had been mostly subsumed into Workplace or something.
This would be a good question to ask at IMPACT, which I won't be at. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

the search of the online curriculum at impact returns 0 hits when searching for MQe or everyplace or every or even place...
so I hope I remember to ask when I am there... _________________ Michael

Appears WebSphere MQe product is being absorbed into the Micro broker which is part of the Louts Expeditor Suite. |
