Hi, how is everyone doing?.
I see that there is no saperate forum for WID or WPS.
Is it the time to start one?. or will there be none?
As the WPS replaces Workflow and ICS, will the questions will just be posted in the existing forums it self? (workflow and ICS).
share your thoughts, or may be if this topic is already discussed, link for that would be much appreciated.
--- thank you all. |

For now I can see most of the WPS & WID questions on ICS forum. But I guess it'll be gud if we have seperate forum.. |

Each forum requires a name and a description. Since I'm not too familiar with these products, could someone provide this and I'll be happy to make another forum. _________________ Brandon Duncan

WPS - WebSphere Process Server -- the heart of the BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) engine. It will integrate with WMB to orchestrate services and hold long running processes... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Hi,
From whatever little knowledge I have of WPS, I think the Modeler, Integration Developer and the Process Server are all important ingredients of the WPS....so the name should either be only WPS or "WID + WPS +...."

WID is a development tool to develop the SOA and SCA based components.
WPS provides runtime environment for the applications developed (using WID) and is based on WAS platform.
So I would suggest
Name: WID+WPS + Adapters (both Websphere and JCA )
Description: All the issues related to migration (from workflow , ICS, Enterprise Service Bus) , development (using WID) and runtime configuration and deployment ( WPS) goes here........
I may not be accurate but please correct me if I am wrong and lets decide on this (Forum Name).
thanks. |

If we're going to cover WPS, we should probably cover WAS/WAS-ND and maybe WAS-XD as well.
And WESB.
Maybe WID/WPS/WAS+ _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Not meant to contradict Grand Poobah..... but I guess WPS itself is a different (I mean independent) product compared to WAS and presence of WPS and WAS is redundant .
Maybe adding WAS in this forum also is not a bad Idea as we are anyway missing a forum for one of the hottest Websphere products.
Just my thoughts..... hope I have a point |

I agree WPS is different.
I'm just saying that if we're going to cover WPS, a) we need to expect people to ask base WAS questions anyway, b) it would be good to make it explicit that that's okay.
Most of the WAS questions that get asked here are in the Java/JMS forum... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

See.... I didnt even know that, although I was browsing this site for more than a year.
It proves that, some of the forum names must be Explicit. (At least for novice people like me...who are BTW not the very sharp.... )
Thanks Grand Poobah.... for pointing that out and I hope u dont mind me using "Grand Poobah" too much..... |
