| Promote Property - doesn't work |

I want to be able to change the "Destination" property
of a Trace Node at the BAR File Properties.
With the message flow in front,
I right-click on the Trace Node
and select "Promote Property"
and drag it to the right pane (MB is v6).
Now, I create a new BAR file.
But the BAR file properties only have "File Path", as before.
Any clue where "Destination" is hiding ?

i think you can only set certain properties at the bar file level. right click on your message flow and i think you will see the properties that you have promoted to it.

Just a tip..
Putting "doesn't work" in the subject line does not encourage people to help you.
I suppose it is possible that you are usiung a feature that nobody else has ever tried before.and that was never tested either by development or test, but it is unlikely. A better way of describing the issue is to put" I cannot get ... to work", and then in the body of the post describe what your are doing and how.

Thanks, Nigelg - you are absolutely right.
I AM trying to promote a property from the Trace Node to the BAR file
and now I know it is not possible : you can only promote properties INTO THE FLOW. The promotion I did was "hidden" under the "canvas" properties, this is, you have yo right click on the WHITE SPACE to open the Message flow properties, and there it was : "Destination" now is related to the message flow, not to the Trace Node.
So, what I was trying to do was not possible, and my "subject" was awfull - will improve next one, sure !!! ( ) |
