I worked in wipro....for me it was a bad experience.
If any one need onsite..better ask very high sal b4 joining, if they can offer big..then they will try to put in onsite becos of cost factor in offshore.
Always ask which client you are going to work...is another client round interview..what extactly work u r doing...when project going to start..if they offer onsite..ask in written..when am going onsite..when is the next hike....So my wipro exp taught me lot many things:).
If some one needs to work in telcom domain<skill set such as C,C++,Linux...embedded sys..VLSI.. ..Wipro is very good indian firm...almost all telecom/network devices companies are thier clients..

I agree,WIPRO sucks.
They show millions of dolloars of profits and hardly pay their employees.
I woul recommend avoiding WIPRO for any EAI jobs. They will squeeze every bit of work from you and pay hardly nething.

Hi,

Would like to thank you guys for sharing your experience with WIPRO. Your post will definatey make me wise. Its alwys next to impossible to get to know true picture about a company through HR. I had meet few ex-wipro guys and they all appreciate strong EAI divison wipro has.

Thank you.

Viky.

So, what's the big deal ?

Do U think that any company (especially, American)
are paying any better in any 3rd world country ?
What they are operating essentially is a modern form
of slavery. One bowl of rice every day and two on a
Sunday.

well ,most MNC's are better than WIPRO/INFY.I have worked for both and in US for 9 years and would certainly vouch for MNC,specially when it comes to renumeration/work environment

A word of advice. If you do not like a company do not join. The forum is to encourage employers/agencies to post the available openings. You are only discouraging the prospective leads.

Well!! as for me I am not connected to Wipro

Only if the prospective leads have something they want to hide.

Everyone has their own opinions about companies and how well (or badly) they treat others. Information posted on this site should be taken on the understanding that it is provided by psuedo-anonimous people and should be used as a guideline not as law.

Everyone has experineces to share, good and bad, but one person's experience may not be the same as that of another person.

The posts don't just say things like 'WIPRO SUCKS', they offer reasons for the posters feelings and even offer suggestions on negotiating with the company. I don't see anything wrong with that.

You cannot blindly say that wipro sucks.May be one or 2 projects where you will not get satisfied. That happens everywhere not only with wipro.

Again it depends on the project you are into and the technologies and quality people that the project has.

There are lot of good projects in wipro and some bad projects.
It is you who gave to get cleared about the project, your roles and responsibilities, shift timing, oncall support, remuneration, allowances and so on.Before joining you have to enquire about all these things. If you fail to demand all these things while joining, how wipro should be blamed for this.
Wherever company you go and if you fail to get cleared all these things, then you may get a bad project and in turn you blame the company saying the company sucks.

Please do not take anything into person and iam giving you the practical things which are happening and you should be aware of all these things.

muthum_2000, you are perfectly right.Wipro is very good company.
What happen if they give you false promise while joining and not able to match your expectations after you joined there. It also depends teh tiem you join and the projects on going there at point of time.
Basically few companies, just to take people they will do all false promises depends upon persons who is interview you/HR,finally they tel all are as per processes or project is not yet started..so many good stories.
If you in inside the company and some friends working in that specific project, they only can give me exact fact inside.
HR role is to take the employee IN with max less salary..ie thier KRA.
So they may tel all good stories abt company and also PM/Lead who ever you talked about technical things, they also support HR that point of time...

If you joining any company esp in India, pls make sure that you get exact work details before joining the firm..send mail asking for all details..and get the reply in mail..itself..no phone..Take print outs and keep it with you...
