A customer of mine is trying to use MQ v6 on a Red Hat Cluster Suite

That software, to determine the application (MQ) has not "hanged",
provides a script entry point where I am to determine if MQ is alive or not.

Does anybody have any experience or sugeriment on what can I use
to determine MQ is running ok ?

My first thought was to run "ps -ef | grep {queue manager name}"
and/or "ps -ef | grep runmqlsr" ...

Any ideas ?

the support packs for HA under Unix tend to use something like

echo "PING QMGR"|runmqsc $QMGRNAME
