AFAIK, a work bench is the GUI you work on. With reference to the ICS System manager it is the console you see every time.
Work space is that region that is dedicated to all the projects and the project related files you have created.
IN eclipse terminology it is somewhat like your home directory where all the muck you create gets stored.
CMM has a whole lot of definitions. Would be helpful if you conveyed in what ocntext you are referring them.
