I see conflicting responses with lslpp after installing fixpack 3 for Message broker V6.0. The mqsiservice -v command verifies the correct version. Anybody else see this? I couldn't find anything about this in the Message Broker documentation.
lslpp -l |grep -i "websphere message broker"
mqsi60 6.0.0.3 COMMITTED IBM WebSphere Message Broker
mqsi60 6.0.0.1 COMMITTED IBM WebSphere Message Broker
mqsiservice -v
BIP8996I: Version: 6003
BIP8997I: Product: WebSphere Message Brokers
BIP8998I: CMVC Level: S600-CSD03 DH600-L60821.1
BIP8999I: Build Type: Production
Note: There was a documented issue with WBI V6 FP1. That is actually corrected after the FP3 upgrade. Mine is a different issue. Ref: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=850&context=SSKMAB&context=SS3GH2&context=SSKM8N&dc=D600&uid=swg21234130&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en |

Why does that conflict? |
It shows two different versions of Message broker filesets (6.0.0.3 & 6.0.0.1). I was sort of expecting the 6.0.0.1 entry to be removed from the list of installed filesets.
This is the first time I've applied maintenance to Message Broker. After applying maintenance to MQ, only the most current fileset is reported with lslpp. One significant difference is that we used setupaix -console to patch Message Broker, but we use smitty to patch MQ.
...oh, by the way this is all on AIX 5.1 & 5.2... |

They're completely different installers - as you've noticed - so I'm not surprised that results are slightly different.
I do not have good reason to expect that this represents a problem - as long as both mqsiservice -v and mqsiprofile report 6.0.0.3 you should be fine.
On the other hand, I don't have solid proof that this doesn't represent a problem either. It could be that only certain parts of the 6.0.0.3 maintenance were applied. Hopefully, the install logs would show that - I believe those are in /tmp, although I'm fuzzy on that detail. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
