Hello,
Please forgive my innocence...
Are the support pacs supported by IBM?
ie. does IBM still provide the warranty on the product after one installs a support pac?

please enlighten...

This link has all the information:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27007195&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

or follow the Content->Overview link on the MQ supportpacs page.

Generally, they are not supported but there is no impact on support for existing product functionality, and usually supportpacs will have been through some testing by IBM. Often they are written by IBMers or others in their spare time, or as part of a specific service for one client, and provided as a kind of good-will gesture.

Cheers,
Vicky

IBM provides warranty after a support pac is used.

BUT.....

Not all support pacs are supported by IBM (they come in different categories). If the support pac is supplied unsupported then IBM are not obliged to support you in the event of problems caused by or arising from the use of the support pac.

If it's a supported support pac (!) then it's covered as part of the product.

You'll find full details of this on the support pac page, including the license limitations of each category.
