Redbooks are supplemental documentation.

"Documentation" in this context is usually taken to be the product documentation supplied with it, and on which the exams are based. You'll find links to this at the top of the page, and links to the Info Centre peppered through the forum!
Redbooks are supplimentary material, not so much focused on how to opperate the product but how to get best use from it.
