MQFMT_CICS is not recognised as an internal header by the qmgr on distributed systems, and so will not be automatically converted. An app calling MQGET with CONVERT set on such a msg will get back NOT_CONVERTED, and the error msg in the log:
Quote:
AMQ6174: The library /var/mqm/exits//MQCICS_r was not found.

If you are using the CICS Bridge, then you HAVE to set the Sender channel to do Conversion of character sets.

Cheers,

hello,dear ravi:
You have so interesting question.
It is similar with the puzzle I meet 4 year ago when I migrate to DBCS -(simple chinese) using Websphere ->CTG (cics transaction gateway) -> CICS TS on os/390.

You can ask for your CICS system programmer to check whether CICS convertion DBCS(EBCDIC) ->ascii or not. (DFHCNV).

CICS VTAM buffer trace is needed to find out who is the owner of the question.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Character data may have to be converted as it is passed between client and server; for example data is encoded in ASCII on a client system and in EBCDIC on a CICS/390 server system. Data conversion is performed by the server system."

"If the code page of an ECI application is different from the code page of the server, data conversion must be performed at the CICS server. This applies for EBCDIC CICS servers such as CICS Transaction Server for z/OS"

Best regards.
