Hi
I am new to this MQ.I need to create queue managers and objects in solaris and HP unix boxes....
Now I am able to do all task but where will I set my listener port number??I quess we need to run runmqlsr.Please advise

If you are using MQ v6, which you should be, then you can use MQSC to DEFINE a listener, and START a listener, and ALTER the listener to set the port. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I am using V53 since I need the same version in all the servers..We wil be upgrading the version only durin mid MAY..So for V53 what do i need to do for setting the port number?Please advise |

Thanks.Is it enough that we do it only once when we are creating a newqueu manager or do we need to do it wvery time we are starting the queue manager? |

In v5.3, the listener is not under queue manager control.
You need to runmqlsr every time you strmqm, and enmqlsr every time you endmqm. (or at least, every time you want to stop the listener, which you don't need to do if you're just restarting the qmgr). _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Alternatively you could set the port # in the qm.ini. See appropriate stanza...
