Folks,
I need some pointers on:
a) General z/OS discussion forum. When can I find any?
b) Good windows ftp client to access z/OS environments (I´ve had a headache trying to use some ftp clients to access z/OS).
Thanks, |

There used to be a site with an actual url along the lines of "mainframeforum".
I'm fairly sure that one vanished. It also had a Usenet gateway to the traffic on news.software.ibm.com.
http://www.mvsforums.com/helpboards/ looks like it's currently active. I don't know how good it is, though. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks much, how about the graphical FTP client? I´ve downloaded several for my windows workstation but they don´t seem to understand the z/OS ftpd layout right... |

I use WS_FTP all the time with z/OS and it works just fine for interpreting EBCDIC, opening PDS datasets, etc.
I use a light, free-to-non-commercial-users version 4.5 that dates back to 1997, although I know that there are more recent versions (and more sophisticated) paid versions available from www.ipswitch.com. |

Your 3270 emulator software probably has file transfer capabilities too...Rumba certainly does. |
