We are using the MQ version 5.3,
with the CSD Version 5
in Windows Server 2000

Since last 2 weeks the FDC file are being generated continuously and now have occupied the Drive completely. We have deleted some old FDC to free some space. Can anyone let us know how to stop these FDCs' from getting generated.

Are they all for RUNMQSC?

Also, you should apply fixpacks to take you to v5.3 CSD12, instead of v5.3 CSD 5.

Did someone maybe delete the conversion files from D:\Software\WebSphereMQ\conv?

Hi Jeff,

Yes all of them are for runmqsc.exe only.
We have verified, the files are intact inside the conv folder.

Do you suggets to switch to CSD12...

If they're all for runmqsc, have you scheduled a process that uses runmqsc?

This is not something that's going to start on it's own.

If nothing changed how can you revert back ?

If you can't get to version 6 then I would definately recommend following Jeff's advice and at least getting to CSD12. There were so many issues with older CSD's. I know for sure CSD7 fixed a boat load of .Net issues.

On server 2000, the System icon or the command prompt. They're environment variables.

The error I listed was for Unix, and these are environment settings. You're on a Windows box. Perhaps someone has changed "Settings->Control Panel-> Regional Settings" and altered the system language.

I notice it's en francais in which case the Academe Francaise probably snuck in one night and changed it from English to le langue pure

These environment varibales are not defined in the server. Can I manually define all these variables.

"ja" is for Japanese...................... What can we use for Chinese "cn" or "ch"

You're on China standard time but it's in French!

IMHO I would find out VERY exactly what the box is supposed to be, who changed it and why before making any changes. Just flipping a switch to Chinese double-byte characters from French could cause chaos, and not just for MQ.
