I have 100s of queue managers administrating using MQ Explorer 5.3. All these queue managers are running on UNIX boxes.
I have installed WMQv6 on another PC and added one Unix queue manager in WMQExplorer v6 which is working fine.
I don't want to manually add all these 100s of queue managers.
I have a .msc file under wmq5.3 explorer copied over to WMQExplorer v6 and tried to open it but not working properly. It is showing all .msc file contents as a text.
Is anybody tried this and provide any hint or idea would be higly appreciated.
Thank you, |

You can't import the .msc file directly into the Eclipse explorer - as you've found.
I think your best bet is to try updating a v5.3 that has the .msc imported into it's MMC config to v6 and see if that does a migration.
Otherewise, you can try and hack into the WMQ_Handles.xml file in <WMQExplorer workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.mq.explorer.ui
The default workspace is in Documents and Settings\<your user>\Application Data\IBM\MQ Explorer _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

i thinks mqexplore is the only way to browse the queue manager and .msc will not work unfortunately and you will endup having all qmgr list in this qmgr. |

Hi Jeff,
I did not find the following default workspace on my WMQv6 machine.
Documents and Settings\<your user>\Application Data\IBM\MQ Explorer.
I will paste later what exactly I have in my Documents and Settings folder.
Mohammad,
Thank you so much for your response too. I really appreciate and I think you are right, I probably will end up having all these queue managers adding manually. I'm not a happy man right now.
Thank you so much again for all your help and input.
Regards, |

So, if you are logged into your machine as hkhan12, then you would find a folder C:\Dcouments and Settings\hkhan12\Application Data\IBM\MQ Explorer.
And if you were logged into your machine as Dave, then you would find a folder C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Application Data\IBM\MQ Explorer _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

then it will be funny man,
hkhan12 i tried playing with prespective but when i create new perspective and hide some of the QMGR and save it with a name it will be reflected to all other perspective. I guess the solution is around the perspective but somehow I was not able to find it. I don't know! |

I am telling you where the default workspace should be.
Changing perspective won't change where the workspace is.
If you have gone into MQ Explorer Preferences, and changed it to open in an Eclipse workbench, then you can choose "Switch Workspace" from one of the menues (after restarting MQ Explorer), and decide where the workspace is. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I think hkan12 meant "mmc", not "mqsc". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
