hello!

what other discussion formus do you know/use?
for general it topics or specific topics as java, xml, db, etc.
as well for topics based on products as websphere app server and so.

i appreciate any tips, links.

apart of that forum i can suggest the forum
http://listserv.meduniwien.ac.at/archives/mqser-l.html
which discusses mqseries questions. there are a lot of
experts there you receive very fast and good quality answers.

best regards!

The forum you mentioned (I always think of it as the "Vienna List") has improved greatly now they're filtering the Out Of Office junk. Before it was sometimes 90% OOO messages, 10% real stuff. Still, some joker usually manages to word his OOO message in a way to fool the filter. There's always one...

Hi,

ITtoolbox is pretty good and it has forums for Java, C, Oracle, etc... Although, some times the posters can be extremely lazy and ask very basic questions.

Java Lobby is pretty good but the forums are not very busy.

Tek Tips is good but my account is messed up.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix

I like this Unix Forum quite a bit.

For quick definitions of IT terms, you can't beat the TechWeb Encyclopedia. The online IT dictionary at FOLDOC is excellent, too.

I finally bookmarked the IANA site that identifies Well-Known IP Ports. Beware, those of you who routinely use 1415, 1416, etc. as additional MQ ports: you should check to see what applications are actually registered for those ports already. And note that ports 1881 & 1883 are formally registered for MQ Everyplace and MQ SCADA and are therefore good choices for additional listeners.
