We have an AIX where there were 7 queue managers, running on version 5.
We stopped them all, migrated the software to version 6,
deleted one or two (or 3) of them ... created new ones (without problem).

How can we know if queue manager N was defined to MQ version 5 or 6 ?

I see nothing related in MQS.INI neither any QM.INI ...

DIS QMGR ALL and check the CRDATE of the queuemanager?

if the date is before your V6 migration, then this is (was) a V5 queuemanager. if after the V6 migration, then this is a new defined V6 queuemanager.
