Hi.
A developer is on a Windows server with WMQ V5.3 CSD10. I see the following error in the AMQERR01.log when he tries it.
AMQ8561: Domain controller unavailable.
EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ was unable to contact the domain controller to obtain information for user 'network service@NT AUTHORITY'.
ACTION:
Ensure that a domain controller for the domain on which user 'network service@NT AUTHORITY' is defined is available. Alternatively, if you are using a computer which is not currently connected to the network and have logged on using a domain user ID, you may wish to log on using a local user ID instead.
I can't find any further information on it. I have asked him for more information on his user ID and access.
Has anyone had this issue or know whow to resolve it? I don't know much when it comes to domain controllers so excuse me if this is a simple problem!
Thanks,
Ross. |

WMQ can be set up in 'local' or 'domain' mode.
If in 'local' mode all authentication is done by the Object Authority Manager (OAM) at local OS level, therefore accounts 'local' to the server are used and authenticated by the server.
If in 'domain' mode all authentication is done remotely at the Primary or Secondary Domain Controller (DC), i.e. the server(s) that hold all the accounts on the network. In this case when a call is made to use a WMQ object the authority is checked by the server by connecting to the DC and verifying the account has access to the object.
First check should be that the server can connect to the DC. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

The server can connect to the DC fine.
I am thinking it may be an issue with the ID. This application has only connected to the mainframe using MQ Client. It is now connecting via MQ Server and remote queues, so a new type of access. |
