In RPU don't you see any option to uninstall these PlugIns? |

these support packs were installed with Rational Product Udpater, per the support pack instructions -- I do not know where the dirs were created as this is invisible to user, and there is nothing in toolkit that points me to exactly what was installed (all config files updated, all dir created, etc)
I have created the workspace anew, so the -clean option should not matter; i have also ran the -clean option on all workspaces, to no avail.
Through RPU, I see no option to uninstall . . . I do not have the option to reinstall either, no matter how many times I remove and add update site folder. |

For me I installed some SOAP PlugIns through RPU and then I copied some files to Broker's Runtime directory. In RPU I've an option to uninstall those PlugIns.
But in your case I guess deletion of Folders/Files is the cause for not showing Uninstallation option in RPU. |

yes, the soap extract nodes installed differently, actually as product extensions. . . what i installed were the support packs (the sendmail, ldap, etc) . . . I installed throug toolkit help -> Find and Install, then add local site to point to site.xml, blah, blah . . .when I try to go to update features in the hope that it will refresh install, the RPU sends me off to some website i can't connect to (firewall), and i can't change the update site to point to local file system.
when i try to go through Rational Product Updater package itself rather than through Toolkit find and install, it doesn't recognize the site.xml file or the support pack dir as an installable package.
i don't want to just delete dirs and files willy-nilly -- that's the best way to corrupt everything. |

I did the same thing for SOAP extract nodes (support pack IA90). |

well -- I figured out how to uninstall the support packs . . .
From toolkit, goto Help->Software Updates -> Manage Configuration
In this, expand #install_dir#\radrsm_shared\eclipse, this will then list support packs. Click on feature and it gives the ability to uninstall or disable. Not sure why it doesn't let you uninstall from RPU . . . would definitely be friendlier. |

-clean has nothing to do with the WORKSPACE.
It instructs the eclipse to rebuild it's internal cache of plugins and features, by rebuilding it from the filesystem.
I never said "remove things willy-nilly". I said you have to remove "the right" folders. These would be the ones that got installed in the first place.
But I guess if you didn't know what got installed or where, you were out of luck. But from what you've said, it seems that the site.xml file put stuff in <toolkit>/radrsm_shared/eclipse. There would have been folders under <toolkit>/radrsm_shared/eclipse/features (maybe), and <toolkit>/radrsm_shared/eclipse/plugins that were named in a way that would have been recognizable as belonging to the custom node or nodes. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
