I'm using Websphere Business Integration Message Broker Basics (SG24-7090-00) to get some experience using the Toolkit to develop and deploy a message flow application. However, this redbook instructs me to test a newly developed message flow application via the RAD method.
Specifically, in section 4.2.4 the following text exists:

2. In the Broker Administration Navigator view, expand Message Flows, then
right-click Bookstore Messageflow Project and click Run on Server. The
Server Selection wizard opens.
3. In the Server Selection wizard (Figure 4-5), click Create a new server then
click Next.
Figure 4-5 Configuring RAD: Creating a new server

However, when I switch to the Broker Administration Perspective, expand Message Flows, highlight the project and right click on it, no "Run on Server" option is available.

Does the RAD functionality still exist in version 6.0.0.3?

No more RAD. Thats too bad. Continuing on in this redbook, I find that there are also no more Message Set Projects.
I guess this redbook should be updated as its value is limited because the examples cannot be followed in detail with the current 6.0.0.3 Toolkit.

Does anybody know of a document/tutorial which could be used to discover and learn about Message Broker basics? I'd like to develop some applications using Timer, JavaCompute, MessageFlow, WebServices, nodes and then deploy and test them.

An accurate super-simple basics tutorial showing how to develop a message flow, deploy and test would be most welcome. The Message Broker Basics redbook would have been what I'm looking for if only it were up to date.

You can find some samples in Help>Samples Gallery of your WMB Toolkit.

Try these..

Please note that its the WMB runtime that is at 6.0.0.3 for the latest code (as on Nov 06) and the Toolkit went from 6.0.0.2 to 6.0.2 on Dec 21, 06.

While that Rapid Application Deployment went away in V6, the 602 toolkit has added a new Test Client (for MQ and HTTPinput nodes) which does something very similar. Hint - right-cick on the MQ or HTTP input node and select Test.
