Why is ibm-java2-sdk-142.exe included in the Refresh Pack? I can't find any documentation that says whether I need to run this .exe or not.

I successfully executed WebSphereMQMDV6.0.2.0EnUs.exe. Do I also need to execute ibm-java2-sdk-142.exe in order for MQ to work properly?

I thought it was the minimum required Java level, if you have Java >= 1.4.2 there is no need to install.

It's just there for your convenience...

If MQ needed a JDK, I'd think that it would be included with MQ as opposed to having to install it separately. Again, the readme says nothing or gives minimal guidance on what to do with the .exe file. I guess I don't remember having to do anything when I installed MQ V5.3.

Even I don't remember that I did anything when I installed MQ 6.0.2.

Try creating a QManager and use Sample Java Applications to Put and Get messages.

IBM Java SDK fileset is required if you need to compile applications. May be worth putting on a development server but not on production. More information on MQ filesets and their purpose is in Quick beginnings manuals.

Thanks

This contains a fix for Java pertaining to the DST change scheduled for March 11 this year.
