Can some one give me some idea how i can write error entries in a test file in computer node using esql routine.

In V6, you can write to the syslog/event log or the usertrace with the LOG statement.

But can we log ( write) to a file defined by us ( not system defined artifact-like event log or usertrace)

Not directly. You can write a procedure that calls a Java method to write to a file if you wish, but that is the only way to write to a file of your choice. You are then also responsible for ensuring that writes are synchronised correctly.
