Hey everyone,
I have been using LinkedIn.com for a while now, and I found that I liked it so much that I decided to go work there. So now I'm managing the team that produces LinkedIn's desktop tools like the Outlook add-in and Firefox toolbar. So in a somewhat shameless plug for my new employer, I invite all of you to link in to me, especially you MQSeries.net veterans who make this site such a great resource!
Here is the link to my profile:
http://www.linkedin.com/in/dudcat

To get linkedin with me, just click the link labelled:
Know this person? Add them as a connection

And at the risk of confusing you, but to keep away the spammers, you'll have to guess my email address. But let me tell you how easy it is.
You just take my name:
bduncan

and throw in an @ sign

and then put the domain name of the site you're on, which happens to be linkedin.com and there you go!

Now people like vennella, csmith, etc, I'm expecting an email from you

Best wishes on the new job, Brandon. If you hire someone from your LinkedIn network, do they consider that "hiring from within?" By the way, when you recommend someone it requires a date that you "hired" them. Although we've known each other through the board here for many years, I've never hired you but I have to say that I did to post the recommendation. Traditionally you didn't have to manage someone directly to give them a reference so I thought this was an odd restriction.

Oh and by the way, if you want to print an email address in such a way as to foil the spammers have a look here: http://alicorna.com/obfuscator.html

Hmm, I thought there was a dropdown where you could recommend someone as their manager, as their report, etc...
The obfuscation thing is nice, only problem is that if too many people start doing that it's easy for a spammer to upgrade his scrapper to parse it...
I figure do it some way you just think up, and then never use the same method twice
